DetailWESTERN Mesquite BBQ Smoking Chips add a bold and sweet smoky flavor to food cooked on a gas grill or in an electric smoker. Mesquite has been a preferred BBQ wood all over the Southern United States for years but has become wildly popular nationally because of its unique, strong, classic flavor. Great BBQ starts with real wood smoke. You can get that same great flavor on a gas grill or an electric smoker by using wood chips. You can even use them with charcoal. INSTRUCTIONS: On a gas grill, place 2 to 3 handfuls of BBQ Smoking Chips (about .5 L) in a smoker tray or foil pouch and put them over a hot burner. When they start smoking, place the food on and cook as you normally would. You can use them in a similar manner on a charcoal grill. Just place the tray or pouch on the cooking grid. However, Wood Chunks work better with charcoal than chips. Electric smokers have a built in smoker tray.
